Fall Photo Trip – Door County and Milwaukee’s Downtown and River

Door County is a photographer's paradise, especially in autumn when the landscape explodes into a palette of vibrant red, orange, and yellow. Located on a peninsula that juts out into Lake Michigan in northeastern Wisconsin, Door County offers incredible diversity, from rocky Lake Michigan shoreline to sandy beaches, lush forests, orchards, and quaint small towns.

Photographers will delight in the unique vistas, stunning light, and bountiful photo ops during our upcoming fall photo trip. Door County, Wisconsin, for capturing lighthouses and rocky shores is an incredible experience! Door County is renowned for its scenic beauty and historic lighthouses, making it a perfect destination for photographers. Having two instructors along for the trip can be extremely beneficial. They can offer guidance on composition, lighting, and camera settings, as well as provide valuable feedback on your shots. Plus, having two instructors means you'll likely have access to a wider range of expertise and perspectives.

We are planning your trip for the best times of day for photographing the lighthouses and rocky shores to make the most of the natural light. Sunrise and sunset are often ideal for capturing stunning landscapes, while midday can provide opportunities for unique compositions and details. And this time should be perfect for fall colors. We will visit the iconic lighthouses like the Cana Island Lighthouse or the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, as well as exploring the rugged shoreline for dramatic rock formations and crashing waves. Lastly, be prepared to immerse yourself in the beauty of Door County and let your creativity flow.

With the guidance of your instructors and the stunning surroundings, you're bound to capture some unforgettable images.

Next our Journey continues for 4 day in Milwaukee Here are some points of interest and tips for each location: Milwaukee's Lakefront and Lake Michigan: The lakefront area offers stunning views of Lake Michigan and the city skyline. We will visit the Milwaukee Art Museum, which has a unique architectural design. Sunrise and sunset are particularly beautiful times to visit. RiverWalk: The RiverWalk is a scenic path along the Milwaukee River. You'll find plenty of opportunities to capture the city's vibrant downtown area, as well as charming bridges and public art installations.

We will explore the north and south sides of the RiverWalk for diverse photography spots. North Point Lighthouse: Located in Lake Park, the North Point Lighthouse is a historic landmark that offers panoramic views of Lake Michigan and the city. Lynden Sculpture Garden: This outdoor art space features a variety of sculptures amidst beautiful natural surroundings. Captain Frederick Pabst Mansion: This opulent mansion provides a glimpse into Milwaukee's history. We will photograph the stunning interior architecture and the well-maintained Victorian gardens surrounding the mansion given time.

Above are just a sample of the sites we will take in on our Fall 2024 Photo Trip. We will leave St. Louis on Sunday, September 29th in the a.m. and Return October 6th in the afternoon.

Don't forget to pack essential photography gear such as a sturdy tripod, various lenses for different perspectives, extra batteries and memory cards, and possibly filters to enhance your shots. Plus, we are suggesting you bring a drone too.

This will be a van trip for only 7 participants due to the size of the van. Your trip includes the Hotels (4 nights at one and 4 at another), travel in the van, gas, breakfast, snacks, water and park entrances etc. This does not include the other meals, which we will pay for and then split. One our last trip the overall food cost was about $350 (including tips). It makes it much easier this way and we don’t make any profit on the meals either. We will eat at some very reasonable places, but in Door County we have to go to a FISH BOIL! What an experience. Even if you don’ t enjoy fish!

Your instructors will be Jorge and Stephen who always make these adventures fun and exciting.

TRIP COST:

$1849/person based on double occupancy ($3699)

The single occupancy add-on is + 649.00 or $2499 *Note:

*Due to the popularity of Door County we must book these rooms very soon. And remember there are only 7 open spots.

There is a possibility we will get a larger van and be able to add 2 additional participants.

Last, we will recommend that you pack very light in one small suit case so there is lots of room in the van. Your tripod and camera can go under the seats. The ride to Door County is about 8 hours and we will have several stops along the way. The return trip from Milwaukee is just over 5 hours.
